Course organization

At the end of the Course, a certificate of attendance will be issued. The certificate of attendance allows the enrolled students to take the Frosio exam for Surface Treatment Inspectors.

Attendance of the course is essential to take the exam managed by the Gruppo IspAC Associazione, accredited as a certifier by the FROSIO Body. To take the exam, it is necessary to attend 80% of the 72 hours of lessons. The Group offers extraordinary exam sessions announced on their website www.gruppoispac.org.

The organizational secretariat of the exam is managed by the Gruppo IspAC Associazione (GIA).

Certification levels and validity

The FROSIO certification scheme has 3 levels:

  • Level I - Candidates with no relevant experience or less than that required for Level II
  • Certification validity: 5 years. Level II - Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification validity: 5 years. Level III - Candidates with at least 5 years of relevant experience of which at least 2 with documented inspection experience.

Certification validity: 5 years.

Relevant experience

Work directly related to the pre-treatment of metallic and non-metallic surfaces, the application of paints and other anti-corrosive coatings and the inspection of such work. This experience may be gained in one or more of the following areas: shipbuilding, marine and off-shore installations, energy industries, bridges or industrial plants. Experience in mechanical, construction, chemical/technical processes and protective coatings manufacturing industries will also be considered relevant.
